I've worked as an analytical chemist, a teacher, and a curriculum writer.
I have a particular interest in helping students connect scientific theory and abstract mathematics to everyday applications; I want what they experience in the classroom to give them a new lens through which they will always view the world.
I try to include the “why we care” for any given concept: concrete examples, applications, and mention of later concepts that use the current material. I draw math word problems from real-world applications, with numbers as close to the real situation as practicable.
